The Umity story
What started off as a simple study trip, turned into a life-long, rewarding journey of helping businesses succeed.
Umity’s founder, Mooney, first came from China to Singapore to further her studies. While attending the National University of Singapore, she ventured into international business. Mooney succeeded in building her first company – handling imports and exports, and managing accounting and secretarial services with support from her partner. This proved to be a valuable experience, and Mooney established an extensive network of business partners who remain her clients today.
However, it was China’s Belt and Road Initiative that gave Mooney her big break. With this initiative, business opportunities between Singapore and China grew, and enterprising individuals sought ways to dive into new markets.
Impressed by her success, friends approached Mooney for advice. Mooney eagerly offered her assistance, and found her calling to help businesses grow. In 2017, Mooney decided to turn her service into a business. Umity was born.
Having grown up in China and worked in Singapore, Mooney’s valuable insights in both markets help set Umity apart. Supported by a deep socio-cultural understanding of the two markets, and keen knowledge of international compliance and regulations, Umity is able to help businesses enter either market with ease.
With a strong belief in providing the most value for clients, Umity offers tailored services that cater to the needs of every business. Today, Umity has helped three listed companies and more than 500 brands expand their business into Singapore and China. The team will continue to go above and beyond, and ensure that businesses grow and strengthen their regional presence.
